Broadleaf Weed Control Program

Our broadleaf weed control program consists of applying a four-way, broad spectrum herbicide to kill existing weeds in the turf.

The most efficient program would be to make spring and fall applications. In the spring we wait until the average soil temperature is over 50 degrees. This is usually obtained during the month of April. The effectiveness of the herbicide is enhanced because the weed plants are succulent and rapidly growing.

In the fall, we wait until the exposed weeds are beginning to go dormant. This is important because the plants will pull the herbicide down toward the root zone of the weed resulting in a more thorough kill. The fall treatments are usually done in October.
