Lawn Care 101

My Name is Matt Lipscomb, and I have been the lawn care technician here at Rasmussen Spray Service since 2009.  Over the years I have learned that the key to having a healthy and green lawn is not only supplying the customer with superior service and using top of the line plant health care products, we also need to keep the customer informed on techniques that they can do themselves.

Here is how my lawn looked this winter.  There is some damage present but nothing a little TLC can’t fix.  I decided not to do much to my lawn this last fall and winter making it a little bit of a project.

The services I have done to my lawn are things that will take many years to fix or to bring to an acceptable level.  These services were Poa Annua treatments and Dolomite for soil adjustments.

Lawn Start

The recurring problems in my lawn are shade during the winter as the sun drops lower than the house and puddling of water during heavy rain.  These are very common problems for landscapes in the Willamette Valley.

Over the next few months I will be posting updates on the progress of bringing my lawn back to health, and highlighting beneficial treatments that will also help your lawn as well. Be sure to like our Facebook page to keep up to date on the latest techniques I use.
